Speaker Biography

MEASURE was founded in 2015 by, Jameila "Meme" Styles when she challenged the Austin Police Department to "show the numbers" they were using to report the results of agency performance measures. Realizing the disconnect between the department’s big data reporting and the community, Mrs. Styles was prompted to create a methodology to measure community policing.

Founder and President, Jameila "Meme" Styles is the visionary behind MEASURE Austin. As “chief volunteer,” Meme works with the board, leadership team and community to further the MEASURE mission. In 2015 Meme found the award-winning nonprofit to build trust, increase transparency and measure progress in underserved communities.

Community service is what makes her tick. As such, Meme also serves as the Chairwoman of The Greater East Austin Youth Association's Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Pageant and on the board of African TV5. Mrs. Styles holds a Bachelor's of Science in Communications, completing a Masters of Public Administration at American Military University and is certified in Performance Measurement through George Washington University College of Professional Studies.
